Celebrating five amazing years of LA tech

That’s right. We all work hard, now it’s time to play hard. TechZulu and Digital LA are turning five this month and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with all of you. After all, you are LA tech, and this party is just as much a celebration of how far this community has come...and how far it's yet to go.

A lot can happen in 5 years. TechZulu began as a grassroots media operation addressing the need to shed light on LA’s growing tech scene, covering the likes of Digital LA, Dealmaker events, Mindshare, and more. We then added a live element to our coverage, streaming video from major trade shows and events like New Media Expo, PubCon, CES, DEMO, Source13 and South by Southwest Interactive.

Today, we offer a full slate of coverage of LA and beyond, focusing on emerging technology and the people behind the brands. Our Spotlight Series brings us together with the top business and engineering talent at area colleges, and our Tech Crawls take you inside local startups to rub elbows and raise a glass.

So now it's time to make a toast to all of us. We're taking over ROC in Santa Monica to bring you a night of red carpet chic...or shall we say...Black and Red chic? In case you hadn't noticed, TechZulu and Digital LA happen to share the same colors. In the spirit of unity and Kevin Winston's signature red shirts, we've decided to have all of YOU wear black and red to the party. No exceptions!

The first floor at ROC will feature the GadgetReview Lounge, showcasing the best of LA tech and a whole lot more. GadgetReview covers the latest gadget news, reviews and tech deals and will also be celebrating its five year anniversary in Los Angeles. The party will continue on the rooftop with beats by Mark Zabala, photo booths, and surprise performances.

And that’s just scratching the surface. There's so much to celebrate, and so much yet to come. So please, join Kevin, Efren, Amanda, Kyle, John, Enrique, Christen and the rest of the TZ Crew as we raise a glass to each other, and to all of you. WE are LA tech.
